Your profile lives at Settings, reached from the account menu in the app.

What is on your profile

Your name

The name on your entries and in the audit trail. It is taken from what you gave at sign-up and is never asked for again.

Business name

Optional. It is used where a document or an export needs a trading name rather than a personal one.
Both are yours to change at any time, and changing either changes nothing about your entries.
Changes are saved when you press Save, not as you leave a field. A page that writes on blur cannot be abandoned: someone who opens it, changes their mind and navigates away has already saved.

Where sign-in details are changed

Your email address, your password, your connected sign-in accounts and your multi-factor settings are held by Clerk, the authentication provider myClerkBook uses. They open in Clerk’s own panel, from Sign-in and security in the account menu.
That panel looks different from the rest of the app because it is Clerk’s, and that is deliberate. Credentials are held by the provider whose job it is to hold them, so myClerkBook never stores your password and cannot read it.

How you can sign in

Email and password

Your email address is verified before the account is active.

Username and password

A username instead of an email address, if you prefer.

Google

The only social provider offered. myClerkBook receives your email address and basic profile, and nothing else.
The sign-in page is the authority on which methods are available. If a method is not on it, it is not offered.

Correcting anything we hold

Correction is a right under POPIA and GDPR, and it is answerable from the product rather than by request: every entry in your book is editable in place, and the fields above are editable on your profile. Where something is wrong and you cannot reach it yourself, email legal@myclerkbook.com.
