What an alert is made of
Three parts, and you can change all three.A trigger
A schedule or a condition tested against the book. Three days before a
renewal, or the moment spending passes a figure you set.
A message
What lands in front of you, carrying the figures the trigger found.
A channel
Where it is sent. One alert can go to more than one place.
Setting one up
1
Open Insights inside a book
The Insights screen holds the template library and everything you have
already created. Alerts belong to a book, so an alert on your client work
has nothing to do with your personal book.
2
Pick a template
Every template states its trigger and what it delivers. Premium templates
are listed and locked on Basic rather than hidden, so you can see what is
behind the plan before you decide.
3
Set its parameters
Change what the template exposes: the number of days of warning, the
threshold amount, the vendor it watches, the day it summarises.
4
Choose channels
Email needs no setting up. SMS and WhatsApp need a number linked in your
integration settings first.
Channels
Email always works, on the address you registered with, and there is nothing to connect. It is available on both plans. SMS and WhatsApp are Premium, need a number linked in your integration settings, and are set per alert rather than per account. A weekly summary by email and an emergency balance alert on WhatsApp is a normal arrangement. The WhatsApp number you link is one connection with two uses: it delivers
alerts, and it is the same number the myClerkBook Agent answers on. See
Integrations.
The starter library
Eight templates, on both plans, delivered by email. The Premium library
Four further templates, in addition to everything above, deliverable by email, SMS or WhatsApp.Building one from scratch
The custom builder is Premium, and it is the difference between changing a template and writing a rule.
On Basic you take a template and adjust what it offers: a three day warning
becomes five, a threshold amount changes. On Premium you start from the trigger
type itself, threshold, schedule, vendor or category, set its parameters, write
the message or have the Agent draft it, and choose the channels.
