This page is the readable version of the Privacy Policy. Where the two differ, the policy is the legal document and this is the explanation.

Your account

Your books

Everything you record: amounts, dates, vendors, descriptions, groups, the currency each book is kept in, and any notes you add.
This is the data the product exists to hold, and it is yours. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to train anything. It is scoped to your account at the database level rather than by application code remembering to filter it.

Documents you upload

Receipts, invoices and statements you upload for parsing, and the extracted fields awaiting your confirmation.
Document parsing is not built yet, so no document is currently sent anywhere for processing. The design is described in Our privacy architecture.

Billing

Your plan, subscription status, and the identifiers our payment provider uses to link your subscription to your account. No card details. Card numbers are entered into Polar’s payment form and never reach myClerkBook. See Payment methods.

Product analytics

Which surfaces are opened and which actions are taken, so we can tell what is used and what is not.

No financial values

No amount, vendor, description or book name is ever attached to an analytics event.

No IP address

Analytics runs with IP storage disabled.

No session recording

Screen recording and replay are switched off.

Counts, not content

An event records that a group was created and its colour, never its name.

What we never collect

  • Bank credentials. There is no facility to enter them.
  • Bank account access. No aggregator, no read connection, no exceptions.
  • Card numbers. They go to Polar, not to us.
  • Your contacts. Nothing reads an address book.
  • Location. Beyond the country your bank or payment provider reports at checkout, for tax purposes.

Next: retention and deletion

How long each category is kept, and how to remove all of it.
