Portability is a right under POPIA and under GDPR Article 20, and it is not conditional on your plan or on why you want it.

What an export contains

Two downloads cover everything. A book spreadsheet holds every entry in one book: dates, vendors, types, amounts, currencies, the groups you sorted entries into, recurring schedules, trial end dates and each entry’s review status. It is a plain CSV with a UTF-8 header row, readable by any spreadsheet and importable into any other tool.
The CSV carries raw amounts and ISO currency codes rather than formatted figures, so your spreadsheet software can total it without stripping symbols first.
A full account export holds the whole graph in one JSON file: your profile and preferences, every book, every entry, groups, widget and insight configurations, and your audit history. It is labelled with a schema version, so another tool can read it reliably. Neither download is stored on our servers. Each file is built at the moment you ask for it and delivered straight to your device.

How to export

1

Open Data in your account settings

In the app, open the account menu and choose Settings, then select Data.
2

For a book spreadsheet

Choose the book, and optionally a date range, then select Export CSV. Leave both dates empty for the whole book.
3

For everything

Select Start new export at the top of the Export section. The complete account file downloads as JSON.
If you would rather not use the product, email legal@myclerkbook.com from the address on your account and we will send you a copy instead. We respond within thirty days, we do not charge for it, and we will not ask you why.

What each plan includes

Neither plan limits how much of your own data you can take.

Export before you delete

Deletion is permanent and there is no undo. Once your account is gone, so is the ability to get a copy from it. Export first if there is anything you may want. See Closing your account.

Which rights this serves

For objection, restriction, or anything else, email legal@myclerkbook.com. See Compliance for the full picture.

Next: closing your account

What closing deletes, what it does not, and what cannot be undone.
