## Getting started

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Do I have to connect my bank account?" icon="lock">
    No, and you could not if you wanted to. myClerkBook does not request, store
    or process bank credentials, and it works with no data aggregator. There is
    no connection to make and none to revoke.

    A statement file you export from your own bank and choose to upload is a
    different thing. That is a file you are handing over, and it needs no
    credential and no connection to anyone.

  <Accordion title="Do I need a card to sign up?" icon="credit-card">
    No. Creating an account asks for your name, a username, an email address
    and a password. Choosing a plan is not part of sign-up and not part of
    onboarding: it comes straight afterwards, and a plan or the Premium trial
    is what opens the app.

    Create a book, record income, expenses and trials by hand, sort them into
    groups, and edit any entry in place with a full activity log behind it.
    Arrange your dashboard from the Smart Widgets template library, and set up
    alerts from the Smart Insights templates.

## Plans and billing

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What do the plans cost, and what is in each one?" icon="table-columns">
    Two plans and one add-on, billed monthly or yearly, with yearly costing ten
    months rather than twelve. Rather than repeat the figures in three places
    and risk one of them going stale, they live on one page.

  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens when the Premium trial ends?" icon="hourglass-half">
    The trial runs 7 days and you are told before it ends. Basic has no trial
    because it is the entry plan and is paid for upfront.

  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I change plan part-way through a month?" icon="arrow-right-arrow-left">
    Yes, from your billing settings, and the page below covers what happens to
    what you have already paid and when the change takes effect.

  <Accordion title="Who actually charges my card?" icon="receipt">
    Polar, the merchant of record for myClerkBook. Your card details are held
    by Polar and never by myClerkBook, and your receipt comes from them.

## Privacy and security

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Will an AI model see my name?" icon="shield-halved">
    Nothing reads your documents, because there is nothing in myClerkBook that
    accepts one: every entry in the book is recorded by you. The commitment for
    document reading is fixed in advance, and it does not change when it
    arrives — personal information is stripped out before any prompt is built,
    so a model sees the figures on the page and not your name, your email
    address or an account number.

  <Accordion title="Are my transactions used to train a model?" icon="database">
    No. They are your records. They are not training data and they are not sold.

  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="If I delete my account, is it really gone?" icon="trash-can">
    Your account and everything in it goes immediately: no soft delete, no
    archive, no retained copy. Analytics records sit with separate providers and
    are erased on their schedule rather than in the same instant, and that
    difference is stated rather than glossed over. Export first if you want your
    records.

    own icon.
